New Residents

As most of you know already, Jacob and I love nature.  About a week ago, Jacob got tired of waiting on me to paint and tell him where to put our new birdhouse, and finally fixed it against one of the posts on our porch.  Not going to lie, I'm a little sad that I didn't get to paint it... but I guess I can lay my perfectionistic qualities aside. :)  Regardless, I am pumped and you know why?..

Abel and Lacey, our dogs, spying on our new residents :)

Looks like we have new residents!!  After spying on them from inside our house, we realized its a family of Sparrows, and it has been so much fun to watch them bringing in twigs and grasses to build their nest.  After talking about them for a while, I thought to myself how cool it is that God designed birds with such an instinct for building nests and watching their newly hatched young.  And secondly, how can people look at sunsets, mountains, oceans, and animals, and yet believe to be true that God doesn't exist?  I can't imagine living a life without Christ.  What hope and joy we have in Him.

It's our prayer that if you don't already, you will one day know the God we serve and experience his true love and affection.  I find this verse appropriate for today:

Jack Sparrow

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31

Have a wonderful night, everyone, enjoying the sweet spirit of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who was, who is, and is to come!

The Beach is Better

Wow.
What a day today and yesterday has been.  First off, I know, I didn't post yesterday.
I'm already out to a great start! :) Well for those of you who don't know, I'm in the middle of
finals at ECU and I had an exam at 8:00am this morning, a paper due tonight
that ended up being 12 pages long, and my Macbook decided it doesn't
want to charge with my charger anymore. awesome.

This girl is tired!
Its super late and I had to work tonight and have to work tomorrow morning, but
I refused to go to sleep without posting.  Now for things that are much more fun,
THE BEACH. :)
Bodie Island Lighthouse, Outer Banks, NC

My Dad and brother came up to visit last weekend and we went to Nags Head in
the Outer Banks, NC. It's the first time we've ever been and it was BEAUTIFUL!
It was very windy, but hot and sunny, and it was the perfect daycation.
I could live there.  Maybe one day God will call us to serve at the beach.
I wouldn't complain ;)

It's Official

Jacob and I at our home on Easter Sunday 2011

Okay guys, Let's hear a drumroll...
it's been a dream of mine (Kelsey) to begin a blog and
YES! It's finally here! :D
You know me, I'm a perfectionist with my creative aspects/projects and I've been working hard on this layout and overall blog since January.  For you experienced bloggers, I know that is a ridiculously long time to be working on a blog, but I'm still learning!  I figured if I didn't just go ahead and begin this it would never happen!

With this being said, we're SO excited about beginning this so we can let you guys know what's going on in our lives on a more frequent basis.  Of course, I'll be the one who usually posts, seeing as when Jacob and I discussed this whole idea of beginning a blog, his idea of a good blog was posting once a week.  I guess that leaves some room for me and my rantings....
Lucky you! ;)

I'm going to try and post every night or every other night so we can keep this ship afloat.  In addition, I love to write, but sometimes I get really excited about writing and I may have some spelling and/or grammatical errors. Sorry if this bothers you. This blog is for incomplete sentences, random thoughts, and our real lives. It's nice to have something a little less structured with our busy schedules! I've also made a pact with myself to take more pictures with my real camera, and not just my phone camera, so that we can include some pictures for your enjoyment as well.

.......STILL SO EXCITED!

We love and miss you all and can't wait to see you again! I promise my blogs won't usually be this long!  Meet you back here tomorrow, okay? It's official. :)
